Scott J. Douglas

WOLCOTT: Scott James Douglas, 59, a longtime resident of Wolcott died unexpectedly on Monday September 25, 2023, in Wolcott.

He was born May 30, 1964, in Morrisville; the son of Lawrence and Elizabeth (Powers) Douglas.

He attended Wolcott public schools and graduated from Peoples Academy in Morrisville in the class of 1982. He was employed by several Lamoille County Businesses including working in the woods with his dad, asbestos work for Butch Schoolcraft, plumbing for Wheelers and in production for House of Troy in Hyde Park.

Scott had been married to Marcia Lee Douglas.  Together they raised their two children.

Scott enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved spending time with his two daughters and especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include: his mother, Elizabeth Douglas of Wolcott; two daughters, Pauline Douglas and her husband, Robert Foss  of Hyde Park, Ashley Douglas and  her boyfriend, Dylan Arnold of Wolcott; Marcia Lee Douglas of Wolcott; two sisters, Karan Richardson and her husband, Maurice Richardson, Jr., of Barre, and Donna Touchette and her husband, Raymond of Wolcott; 6 grandchildren, Mia, Charlie, Jessie and Adeline Foss, all of Hyde Park and Aiden and Issac Arnold, both of Wolcott and a soon to be born grandson, Ethan Arnold;  a brother-in-law, Barry Tatro and his wife, Marie of Hardwick; 1 uncle, several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
Scott was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Douglas on June 25, 2021.

Graveside Services will be held at 1 PM. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the Taylor Cemetery in Wolcott with Rev. Pat Thompson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Lamoille Area Cancer Network, P.O. Box 828, Morrisville, Vermont 05661.
