Ronald W. Cochran

WALDEN: Ronald Wilfred Cochran, 86, of Walden passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury with his family at his side.

He was born May 25, 1940, in Walden; the son of the late Wilfred R. and Francese (Lanphear) Cochran. He attended Walden Heights one-room public school and graduated from Danville High School in the class of 1958.

He married Ann Lamberton on December 26, 1959, in Marshfield and together they raised six children.

Ronald was employed by the State of Vermont, Department of Agriculture as a milk tester, for thirteen years. He later was a herdsman for Kempton Farms in Peacham and Blodgett Farms in Vernon, until he retired.  He treasured his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, crossword puzzles, and reading Clive Cussler novels.

He was a member of the Walden United Methodist Church in Noyesville. Ronald was a man of few words, quick wit, and a gentle heart. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Survivors include his wife Ann of Walden; six children: Suzanne Roberts (Brian) of Cabot, Tracy Cochran ( Diane) of Maryville, TN, Colleen Gingue (Marc) of St. Johnsbury, Andy Cochran (Tammy) of Peacham, Gary Cochran of Barnet, Jamey Cochran (Vicki) of Waterford; three siblings Donald (Janet) Cochran, Reginald (Lorraine) Cochran, and Diane Cochran, all of Walden, and a sister-in-law Jackie Cochran of St. Johnsbury; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two aunts Dorothy Spaulding of Morrisville, Betty Cochran of Milford, NH;  and one uncle, Carlton Cochran of Morrisville; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, Dennis Cochran.

Graveside Services will be held in the spring of 2027, at the convenience of his family.
