Robert C." Bob" Tenney

WOLCOTT: Robert Carroll "Bob" Tenney, 82, a longtime resident of Wolcott died peacefully on October 12, 2023, at the Barre Gardens Nurisng Home in Barre City.

He was born February 13, 1941, in Morrisville; the son of the late Guy and Olive (Clark) Tenney.

He attended Hyde Park elementary schools and Lamoille Central Academy in Hyde Park.

During his working career, Bob was employed by several businesses including dairy farming for his parents, the department of roads for the towns of Hyde Park, and Wolcott. He was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for many local companies.

He enjoyed mechanical work, welding, repairing tractors and heavy equipment, time spent in the garage, going to auctions with his legendary maroon and silver Ford trucks, snowmachining, stock car racing and building VW dune buggies.

Survivors include his companion for more than 50 years, Florence C. Tenney, of Wolcott; his brother-in-law, Ernie Moreau; three children, Robert J. "Burt" Tenney and Melissa Morin of Wolcott, Bonnie Blaisdell and Shane of North Hyde Park,  and Karen Huard  and Frank of Craftsbury; grandchildren: Arthur "AJ" Kreis and Cara of South Royalton, Chelsea Kirk, and Nate of Richford, Mariann Kreis and Erik of Jeffersonville, Mabel and Evelyn Huard of Craftsbury and LeighAnn of Wolcott; five great grandchildren, James, Joey, Hendrix, Lennox and Anna Joyce; several cousins; two close friends, Bill P. and Bob V and countless other friends.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Northern Vermont Funeral Home, 60 Elm Street, Hardwick.

Private Committal Services will be held at the convenience of his family.
