Richard A. Larrabee, Sr.

West Danville: Richard A. Larrabee Sr, 85, a sixty-two-year resident of West Danville died Saturday, March 22, 2025, in the comfort of his home with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Hardwick; the son of the late Earl and Ethel (Hall) Larrabee. He attended Hardwick Academy. Following his education, he entered the U.S. Navy on November 27,1957. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged on August 8, 1961.

On March 23,1963, he married Theresa Ruth Pecor in Hardwick. They made their home in West Danville. Together they raised three children.

Richard was a self-employed carpenter. He was a hard-working man, who worked tirelessly until his health began to fail in 2015. He was a member of the West Danville Methodist Church.  He was a great storyteller. He enjoyed hunting and ice fishing, caring for his lawn, and visiting with anyone and everyone; but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Theresa Larrabee of West Danville; three children Lisa Larrabee of Waterbury, Richard A. Larrabee Jr of Texas and Martin L. Larrabee of Danville; a brother Dennis Larrabee and his wife Betty of Walden; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Richard was predeceased by many of his siblings, and two of his grandsons Virgil (2007) and Dylan (2010).

To honor his request, all services will be private at the convenience of his family.

A special thank you to his niece Jenny, for helping to make it possible for Dick to remain in his home during his final weeks.
