Pauline M. Parkhurst

HARDWICK: Pauline Maxine Parkhurst, 86, a lifelong Hardwick resident died peacefully at Copley Hospital in Morrisville, on December 1st, 2023, with family and a close friend at her bedside.

She was born November 16,1937, in Hardwick; the daughter of the late Ronald E. and Greta Mae (Robertson) Fadden. She attended Hardwick Academy.

Following her education, Pauline stayed at home to care for her younger siblings. She was employed at Hardwick Wear Knitters, the Greensboro Nursing Home and was a caregiver to many young children in the Hardwick area.  She was later employed as a cook by Mary Mercier at the Village Restaurant in Hardwick, where she worked for more than 25 years, until she retired.

Pauline's family was her greatest accomplishment.  She loved spending time with her grandson and great- grandchildren. She enjoyed word search puzzles, playing cards and sending greeting cards to family and friends. Her best friend, Ronda-Rae Parker made it possible for her to attend many yard sales, thrift store shopping, and dining in many restaurants as they toured Vermont. She will be deeply missed and long remembered by her family, friends, and the many young children that she cared for throughout the years.

Survivors include: two children, Sharon Parkhurst of St. Johnsbury and Steve Parkhurst of Hardwick. A grandson, Brett Parkhurst and  Stephanie of Newport; three great-grandchildren, Ayden, Aria, and Skylar all of Newport and a new baby girl expected on Valentine's Day. Two siblings, Mabyan Fadden and Bonita Reed, both of Lyndonville; as well as nieces, a close nephew, Tom Fadden of Hardwick, other nephews and her best friend, Ronda-Rae Parker of Moretown.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Fadden.

To honor her request all gatherings will be private at the convenience of her family.
