Michael Edward Fullam

Michael Edward Fullam died unexpectedly on October 31, 2025, at 71 years old. Michael was born on March 15, 1954, in Montpelier, Vermont, the son of Harry Kimball Fullam and Theresa Ann Boutwell. Michael shared a close bond with his brother Harry Fullam who predeceased him in 2024.

Michael and Harry were longtime residents of the Highland Heights Trailer Park in Johnson, Vermont. Michael took great pride in his role as the Grounds Keeper of Highland Heights for many years. Michael was a simple man who liked to help others. He could be taciturn and gruff, a stereotypical Vermonter. It could take some time to warm up to him, and he you. Those in his small circle, however, felt the strength of his love and fierce determination. His tough facade transformed into a loving human once you had time to spend with him.

A true renaissance man, Michael loved spending time outside gardening, tinkering with motors, mowing lawns, hunting, fishing and working on his Kioti tractor. In addition to his love of outdoors, he enjoyed cooking, doing puzzles and coloring, and doing home repairs. Michael was a man who was perpetually working and tinkering around his property. Spending time with him meant joining in whatever project he was engaged in.  Michael died doing the things he loved in his own community.

Michael loved Christmas. He was eager for Christmas this year, having already put up his tree. He loved getting gifts but not as much as giving them. He loved to spoil two neighborhood kiddos that he had formed a special bond with, watching them grow up over the years.

During the 2023 floods Michael lost everything. His home, his belongings, his reason for being every day. He was intent on overcoming his losses and returning to the place he called home. Michael was resilient, determined, and resourceful. He advocated for what he wanted in the face of his adversities and was extremely proud of the life he rebuilt for himself. A fiercely independent man, Michael lived life on his own terms. No matter what suggestions and recommendations were offered about how he should live his life, Michael persevered and stayed true to himself.

Michael leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a devoted group of chosen friends and caregivers who loved him unconditionally. He will forever remain in their hearts. He is undoubtingly mowing in the sky.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Michael held at Green Mountain Support Services located at 93 James Rd, Morrisville, VT 05661 on Thursday, November 13th at 1PM.  All are welcome.
