Matthew L. Christman

SAINT JOHNSBURY: Matthew Christman, 43, of St. Johnsbury, VT died February 15, 2026, at NVRH in St. Johnsbury with his dear friend and unwavering nurse, Alicia Beth by his side.

He was born January 6, 1983, in St. Johnsbury to the late Ruth Bristol and Brian Christman.

He was employed by the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe and later at The Wine Gate Restaurant in St. Johnsbury. He was forced to retire early due to a tragic life changing spinal cord injury in October of 2024. Matthew was outspoken and liked debating his opinions. He enjoyed landscaping, playing cribbage, designing (and redesigning) his huge aquarium, and a good visit when friends and family stopped by. He was a great cook and a master at making cheesecake! Most of all he loved spending time with his fur-baby Tucker.

Survivors include: his siblings Dan (Jeri) Christman, and Gina Giroux, all of Wheelock, Calley (Rick)  Hanks, and Connie Weed, all of Lyndonville; nieces and nephews: Dustin and Dylan Giroux, of Wheelock, Falicia Christman and Justin Benton, both of Lyndonville, Jadin Weed of TN.,  Talore Weed, and Brittney Baker, both of Wheelock, Ryian Williams of East Haven and Sara Despins of South Wheelock.

A celebration of life will be held at the discretion of the family.
