Mamie F. LaClair

JOHNSON:  Mamie Florence LaClair, 83, of Johnson, passed away on January 16, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on January 4, 1943, in Elmore; the daughter of the late George and Florence (Eldred) Symonds.  She graduated from Peoples Academy in Morrisville.

On May 2, 1981, she married Donald LaClair in Stowe. He died on October 8,1992.

Mamie was employed by Concord Manufacturing in Morrisville, Beagle Wear in Eden, a Nursing Home in Waterville, and until she retired, she worked for Big Lots in Morrisville.

Mamie enjoyed reading, puzzles and playing cards.

Survivors include five children Faye Cochran and her husband Randy, of Eden Mills,  Valerie Gomes and her husband Jamie, of Morrisville,  John McFarlane and his wife Darlene, of Waterbury, Clinton LaClair and his wife Lindsey, and Nicole LaClair, all  of Johnson;  12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters Gloria Jones of Virginia, Linda Bassett of Littleton, NH., and Lisa Richardson of Montpelier; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside Services will be held in the spring in the Lake View Cemetery in Morristown with a date and time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of one choice.
