Linda J. Charette

MORRISVILLE: Linda Jean Charette, 61, of Morrisville passed away peacefully at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, on August 15, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her family was by her side.

She was born on October 13, 1964, in Hardwick; the daughter of the late Charles R. Hess, Sr, and Rebecca (Cleveland) Hess. She graduated from Peoples Academy in Morrisville. She later earned a Batchelder's Degree from UVM. In Burlington.

She was a dedicated member of the US Army and later the Vermont Army National Guard, where she spent many years of active duty. SGT. Linda J. Charette was Honorably Discharged on March 22nd, 2005.

She married Joseph Eugene Charette on October 20, 2001, in the Elmore Methodist Church.  Linda was a past member of the Puffer Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School there for many years. Recently she attended the United Community Church of Morrisville and assisted in  the" Breakfast On Us" Program. Linda was also a member of the American Legion Post # 33, and the VFW Post # 9653, both in Morrisville. She enjoyed family gathering, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband Joseph E. Charette; five children: Linda and her husband Doug Smith, Abby and her husband Zach Dezotelle, Benjamin and Justin Charette, and Katie and her husband Wes Lowe; nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; sister Louise Allen and her husband David; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, Charles SR, and Rebecca Hess; her in-law Ann B.; siblings Valerie and Raymond James; and two great-grandsons Nicholas Fortier and Chance Martin.

Memorial Services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the United Community Church in Morrisville with Rev. Dr. Becca Girrell officiating.
