Lewis "Butch" C.  Jones Sr.

EDEN MILLS:  Lewis Carl "Butch" Jones, Sr of Eden Mills died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

He was born in Cambridge, VT on January 31, 1947; the son of the late Floyd C. Jones Sr and Marion Jones (Marshey).

Lewis enlisted in the United States Army on November 3, 1967. He attended basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO where he completed Construction Machine Operator, Code of Conduct, Military Justice, and Chemical, Biological and Radiological school. He served on duty stations in St. Louis, MO and Fort Stewart, GA. With his last duty assignment and major command at company Charlie 575 ^th engineer Battalion (construction). He served 1 year,5 months and 22 days oversees with USARPAC as a 62E20 Crawler and Wheeled Tractor and Dozer Attachment Operator. During his service he earned multiple decorations and medals to include: a National Defense Ribbon, Vietnam Service Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Medal, A Good Conduct Medal and Two (2) Oversees service bars and was Honorably discharged on 29 November 1973.

Lewis is survived by his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Savong (Sue) Jones whom he had 2 children: Michael Jones Sr., and companion Shirley Machi and Noi Jones and fiancé' Danielle Cutting, along with his 3 children with Susan Miller, Joseph Miller and companion Melissa Bishop, Crystal Spitzer and husband Michael Spitzer, Lewis Jones Jr., and wife Roxanne Jones. Lewis had many grandchildren: Michael, Ariel, Dustin, Noi, Richard, John, Dakota, Alex, Tanika, Colton, Chelsea, Tucker, Izaiah, and Logand along with many loved great grandchildren, in addition as his adopted children and grandchildren. All of whom he loved and were special to him; his sisters Rowena Lareau and Donna Meserve and his brother, Floyd Jones, Jr., as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He adored and cherished his family as they were his foundation of bring. His home and fridge were always open; the grandkids loved the chance to snag a piece of his strawberry rhubarb or blueberry pie as he had a huge love for baking and was a mean cook. Butch was a carpenter and farmer by trade; He had a huge green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Hunting and fishing were a true love of his; teaching his children and grandchildren was something he enjoyed immensely. Butch was a great friend and neighbor and will be sorely missed in his community.

Lewis was predeceased by the mother of his 3 children: Susan Miller, long-term companion Rose Miller and both of his parents.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM, on Friday July 29, 2022 in the Hooper Cemetery in Hyde Park; followed by a pot luck gathering at the North Hyde Park Grange Hall for a celebration of his life.
