Leona Ann Sholan

HARDWICK: Leona Ann Sholan, 81, of Hardwick died peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the Greensboro Nursing home with loving family by her side.

Born October 30, 1942, in Hardwick, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Leanne (Rochette) Lambert. She attended Hardwick Academy.

On November 29, 1958, she married the love of her life, James William Sholan at the St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Hardwick. Together they raised five children and lived most of their married life in the Hardwick area.

For many years, Leona cherished being a stay-at-home mom. Later, she pursued her education, earning her GED, and started working for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for 17 years.

Leona actively participated in the community as a member of Mary Queen of all Saints Parish and Court St. Veronica's Catholic Daughter, both located in Hardwick. She found joy in her hobbies of reading, sewing, knitting, and meditation. However, above all, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, James "Jim" Sholan, of Hardwick; five children, Robin Duquette and her husband, Barry Duquette of Williamstown, Robert "Bob" J. Sholan of Morrisville, Randall "Randy" P. Sholan and partner, Kim Merriam of Walden, Ruth Foster and husband, Scott Foster of Hardwick, and Rodney "Rod" Sholan and partner, Cassie Geraw of Walden; four siblings, Daniel Lambert of Greensboro Bend, David Lambert of Florida, Donald Lambert of New Hampshire, and Theresa Davis of Hardwick; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, as well as aunts, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Visiting hours will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Northern Vermont Funeral Home, 60 Elm Street, Hardwick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM., on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, at Mary Queen of all Saints Parish, St. Norbert's Church, location. South Main Street, in Hardwick with Father Raj Medira, celebrant.
