June A. Thomas

GLOVER: June Arleen Thomas, 94, of the Union House Nursing Home in Glover, formerly of Hardwick died peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2022, with family at her side.

She was born September 2, 1927 in Jericho; the daughter of the late Edward A. and Doris (Ingalls) Ward. She attended Underhill public schools, graduating in the class of 1945.

June was first married to Harold Malcolm Tatro. He died at a very young age and June later married Eustace Anthony Thomas, who also died in 1985.

She was first employed as a telephone Switch Board operator and then attended Beautician School. Following her marriage to Eustace Anthony Thomas, she stayed at home to care for her young children and ran a day care. She assisted her husband on the family dairy farm for many years and until she retired she cared for many of Hardwick elderly folks and made it possible for many of them to stay in their homes.

June loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren, Tupper wear and Basket weaving parties.

Survivors include: five children, Wendy Russell of Montpelier, David Thomas and his wife, Linda of East Hardwick, Linda C. Thomas of Wolcott, Roger Thomas of Roxbury and Marocca Chandler of Jacksonville, NC; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; two siblings: Henry "Hank" Ward and his wife, Linda of Milton and Susan "Sue" Seymour and her husband, Ronald "Ronnie" of Underhill, as well as many nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and two husbands, June was predeceased by 10 of her siblings: Roger, Douglas, Howard, Bruce, Paul, Wesley, Allen and Frank Ward, Pauline Currie and Ruth Walters and a granddaughter, Katelyn Chandler.

To honor her request there will be no public services.
