Joyce R. Greene

CRAFTSBURY:  Joyce Rushford Greene, 93, of Craftsbury passed peacefully away on March 14, 2026, at Copley Hospital in Morrisville, with her family at her side.

Joyce was born February 5, 1933, in Montgomery to the late Jasper Rushford, Sr. and Iva E. Rushford.

She attended school at BFA in St. Albans. Following her high school graduation Joyce continued her education, becoming a Registered Nurse.

She was employed at Kerbs Hospital, now known as Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans and later she worked at Copley Hospital in Morrisville.

Joyce loved and lived for the Lord.  She and her husband Roland along with Emit and Leona Eldred bought the church in Belvidere and made the repairs that became the church that it is today. Now known as United Christian Society, Inc.

She loved to do many things, knit, crafts, and read a few hours at a time to Roland. She loved to dance. You could often see her and Roland dancing around the dance floor together with their matching western outfits

.Joyce leaves her loving husband Roland, of 61 years; her children Wendy Anderson of Craftsbury, Debbie Clemons of VA., and Tim Greene of Morrisville; a stepdaughter Nita Terwilliger of S. Carolina, a sister Jerrilyn (Chuck) Eldred of St. Albans; brother-in-law Howard Greene of Wolcott; grandchildren Trina Goodell of Craftsbury, Jasper Wright (Sandy Stoddard) of Craftsbury, Logan Greene of Morrisville, Loressah Clemons of VA., and Ryan Greene of Morrisville; step-grandchildren Howard Terwilliger and Cammie Terwilliger, many great- great grandchildren, nieces and nephews .

She was predeceased by her daughter Shelly Wright, and a brother Jasper Rushford Jr.

The Greene family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff, Doctors, and nurses for the wonderful care given to Joyce and her family during her final days.

Visiting hours will be held at 1 PM until the time of the service, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the United Christian Society Church in Belvidere.

Funeral Services will be at 2 PM on Wednesday at the church.
