John C. Parker

HYDE PARK:  John Collins Parker 93, of Hyde Park died July 10, 2024, at Copley Hospital in Morrisville. He was born September 7, 1930, in Granby, Quebec, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Collins Parker. As a young child John's family moved to Vermont, settling in the Albany, Craftsbury area. He attended Craftsbury public schools graduating from Craftsbury Academy in the class of 1948.

On April 30, 1976, he married Nancy J. Zarges in Russel, MA. Nancy passed away on November 30, 2018.

John was employed by Monsanto, in Springfield, MA. for more than 30 years. Following his retirement, he and Nancy moved to Vermont settling in the Craftsbury and Hyde Park areas, where he worked for Wildcat Busing for more than 10 years. John enjoyed golf, biking, fishing, caring for his dog and cat, working on his property, and playing cribbage with his best friend at Sterling View.

Survivors include: three stepchildren, Margo Steckert, and her husband Phillip, of Exeter, Rhode Island, Michael Anderson, and his wife Julia, of Jericho, Vermont, and William Anderson and his wife Martina, of Detroit, Texas; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, John was predeceased by a brother during WWII, Marcel Gill Parker, and sisters Margarette and Clair Parker.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM. on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024, in the Branch Cemetery in Craftsbury with Pastor Lorenda Dunham, officiating.
