Joan M. Whitcomb

EDEN: Joan Myrtha Whitcomb, 83, of Eden died Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Copley Hospital in Morrisville, with family at her side.

She was born April 18, 1942, in Morrisville, the daughter of the late William H. and Myrtha (Bradford) Hilliker. She attended Morrisville public schools.

On June 2,1962, she married Warren L. Whitcomb Jr, at the Eden Congregational Church. They lived most of their married life in Eden and Joan stayed at home to care for her young family. She was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

In her earlier years, Joan was active in the Morrisville VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going out to lunch, getting her hair done on Fridays, shopping and garage sales. Nothing brought her more joy than having her children and grandchildren over for family gatherings. She also loved to travel with her husband in her earlier years.

Survivors include three children, Warren L. Whitcomb III and his wife Pamela, Dale A Whitcomb and his wife Melissa, all of Eden, and Sherry Whitcomb; five grandchildren: Takoda Whitcomb and his wife Katy, Brennen and Blake Whitcomb, Erik and Matthew Goodman; two great grandchildren Garrett and Sadie Whitcomb; a brother William "Bill" Hilliker and his wife Barbara, of Florida; nieces, nephews and cousins

Joan was predeceased by her husband Warren Whitcomb Jr, on October 15, 2015; and three siblings, Wilma Hicks, Bradford Hilliker and Janice Dewey.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Eden Congregational Church, with Pastor Michael Pastina officiating.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 12PM until the hour of the service. Joan's burial will immediately follow the funeral in the family plot in the Eden Corners Cemetery.
