James L. Patten

HARDWICK:   James Lee Patten, 42, of Hardwick died peacefully on October 3, 2024, at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, with family at his side.

He was born in Morrisville, on September 7, 1982, the son of David C Patten and Lisa J. Draper.  He attended St. Johnsbury public schools. Following his education, he worked with his father logging, landscaping, cutting brush and planting ceder hedges.

James was a free-spirited young man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, living off the land, celebrating and gatherings with his friends. He also enjoyed the holidays with family and working with his brothers on property improvements and interior and exterior painting.

Survivors include: his mother, Lisa J. Draper of Danville, a daughter, Arianna" Ana-Bug" Daigle and her husband Travis, of Woodbury, stepsons, Damion Johnson of Wolcott and Gabrial Lowell of Orleans; two brothers, Corey Draper and his son, Hazen of Morrisville, and David Draper and his wife, Dawn, and their children Holdan, Aidan, and Montana,  and a sister Hailee Bashaw, all  of Hardwick; five grandchildren, Braxton Patten, Blake Martin, Bennett Daigle, Braelynn and Greyson Johnson; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 AM, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Union Baptist Church in St. Johnsbury with Pastor, Clifton Bullock, officiating.
