Jacqueline M. Tenney

ST. JOHNSBURY: Jacqueline Marie Tenney, born to James Etta Scott in Plaquemine Parish, Louisiana on August 14, 1959, peacefully departed from this life in her home on November 8, 2023, with her devoted husband, Scott Tenney, by her side. She was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Reville Town, LA. She rededicated her life back to God in 1990. Known affectionally as Jackie by her friends and family, she was a resilient and devout woman of faith who single-handedly raised her three sons, Anthony Scott, Michael Shellmire, and Terell Shellmire, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In September 2005, Jacqueline encountered the love of her life and subsequently relocated to Vermont, where she discovered a new sense of belonging.  In Vermont, she forged close bonds with her mother-in-law, Beverly Tenney, and established a home filled with love and happiness alongside her soulmate, Scott. Throughout her time at Agri-Mark, Inc., where she began her employment in July 2009 and continued until her passing, Jacqueline displayed unwavering dedication to her work, earning the respect and admiration of both colleagues and supervisors.

Her commitment to her family and friends was unparalleled, and she made countless sacrifices for their well-being. Jacqueline's work ethic was characterized by diligence and a notable absence of complaint, reflecting her enduring love for her family. Survived by her husband Scott, and her sons, Anthony, Michael, Terell and Jason.  She is also remembered by her sister Angela Watts, Uncle James Edward Scott and his wife, Naomi, mother-in-law Beverly, brothers-in-law, Mitchell, Dave, Malcolm, and sisters-in-law Linda, Coleen, and Deelynn.

Jacqueline leaves behind a legacy that extends to her daughters-in-law, Tifanie, Candece, and Karen as well as her grandchildren, Anthony Jr., TaQuan, Mekya, Maliya, Terell, Jr., Cailey, Caleb, Natalie, and Shelby.  Additionally, she is mourned by her cousins Nancy, Charles, Cheryl, Floyd, Ted, and Tisha, and nieces and nephews Darryl, Toti, Qiana, Kylia, and Kasey.

In remembrance of Jacqueline's life, her family, friends, and colleagues are united in grief and gratitude for the enduring love and positive impact she bestowed upon all who were fortunate enough to know her.  May she rest in peace.

All services will be private at the convenience of her family.
