Gerard "Jerry" Belliveau, Sr.

CRAFTSBURY: Gerard "Jerry"Belliveau,Sr.of Craftsbury, VT passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born February 13, 1945 in Leominster, MA; the son of Raymond and Pauline (Martin) Belliveau. He attended Leominster High School.In his youth, Jerry and his brothers (Kenny & Ronnie) would spend their afternoons at the local YMCA swimming and lifting weights. After graduation, he worked many jobs, one of which was working in the family business, Mr. B's Pizza; he later went on to be co-owner of The Red Checker Restaurant, working side by side with his father.  As a child, the family often traveled through Vermont to visit grandparents in Canada, and he vowed that one day he would live in this beautiful state.  In the late 70's, he moved his wife and three children to Vermont, and started driving for Joe Trombley hauling milk to Boston.  Jerry then got into the concrete business working for Hutch, and then Anderson Concrete as a salesman.  Jerry started his career in law enforcement working for Gardner Manosh as a deputy at the Hyde Park Sheriff's Office.  Jerry later attended the Police Academy and became a full time police officer for the Town of Morristown, working for over 12 years.  He took great pride in serving and protecting the community.  Jerry retired in 2006.

Jerry became very involved in the Boxing community and supported sons, Jerry and Jeffrey throughout their boxing careers managing their strict training schedules, often times traveling to Canada several times a month to ensure they were training with the best. He was extremely proud of their sacrifices, hard work and dedication they put into this very grueling/demanding career.  The Vermont Golden Gloves was a favorite event showcasing their talent and hard work.  Jerry was their biggest fan, the 1 ^st to give a big hug, win or lose, and took great pleasure in their many achievements and medals won throughout the years.

Jerry was an active member in the community and was once a member of the Morrisville Rotary Club, aswell as a Mason; he was an avid Motorcycle enthusiast, and a proud member of the "Gun Fighters Motorcycle Club" an organization of active and retired law enforcement who share a passion for riding motorcycles.

Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Sandra L. (Cahill) Belliveau of Craftsbury; two children, Gerard "Jerry" Belliveau, Jr., and Sherry Lynn Melanson and her husband, Michael, all of  Morrisville;three grandchildren: Taylor (Zachary) Fleeger of Bartlett, NH., Cole M. Melanson and Olivia G. Melanson, both of Morrisville; a great grandson, Archer D. Fleeger of Bartlett, NH.,two sisters, Lynn Farnham of Shirley,Ma.,   and Nancy  LeBlanc of Lunenburg, Mass; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; two children, Cheryl Anne Belliveau, and Jeffrey R. Belliveau; and two brothers, Ronald and Kenneth Belliveau.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the spring at the convenience of his family with a date, time and location to be announced.
