Edith A. Toupin

Glover, VT: Edith Ann Toupin ,88, died peacefully on January 13, 2026, at the Union House Nursing Home, where she has made her home for more than 10 years.

She was born on July 21, 1937, in Hillside, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Dewey and Helen (Smith) Hoffman.

On July 30, 1955, she married Damian M. Toupin. Together they enjoyed more than 54 years of marriage and raised six children.

Edith stayed at home to care for her family. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and especially attending ETWA wrestling. In her later years, she was President of Residential Council at the Union House Nursing Home in Glover.

Edith is survived by five children, Damian Toupin, Jr., and his wife Ann, of Mooresville, NC, Kimberly Royer and husband Rene Sr., of Irasburg, Scott Toupin and partner Carol, of Irasburg, Chris Toupin and partner Anita, of North Troy, and Cheryl Dopp and husband Corey, of Glover; ten  grandchildren, Danielle, Joseph, Heather, Rene Jr., Brandon, Tyler, Brianna, Cassie, Arion and Corey Jr.; fourteen great-grandchildren Avrie, Kadan, Talea, Ashlynn, Nolan, Henry, McKinley, Brinley, Sadie, Peyton, Opal, Maveryk, Nixon, and Emberlynn; a sister-in-law Nerissa Walther, of Florida; two special nieces Jo Ann Morse, of Jay, Vt,  and Virginia Eustis, of N. Plainfield, NJ.,  two special nephews and Howard Geer,  of Troy, Vt, and Robert Hoffman, of Granite Falls, N.C., as well as several other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Damian Toupin Sr. on October 14, 2009; a daughter Robin Marie Toupin, two sisters Evelyn Geer and Eleanor Dilts, and a brother Robert Hoffman.

The Toupin family would like to extend a very special thank you to Pat Russell and all the amazing staff at the Union House Nursing Home, who loved Edith and took such great care of her.

Graveside Services will be held later in the Irasburg Cemetery.
