Douglas F. "Doug" Jewett

MORRISVILLE/ STOWE: Douglas F. "Doug" Jewett, 81, of Morrisville died in the comfort of his home, on Saturday, June 22,2024, with family at his side.

He was born February 27, 1943, in Morrisville; one of eight children born to Harold and Gladys (Harris) Jewett.

He attended Lamoille Central Academy in Hyde Park, graduating in the class of 1962.

Douglas was employed all his working years in the construction business. First for Pike Industries for 8 years and then for Dale Percy Construction until he retired.

He enjoyed: watching old western tv shows and movies, his faithful dog "Tosh", youth hockey, Major League Baseball, especially the Red Sox and working around the house. He lived most of his life in the Lamoille County area. He was privileged to have very close friends and neighbors, Treva & Andy Southworth and Karen & Jason Tibbits, who helped to make it possible for him to remain in his home as his health began to decline.

Survivors include: two children, Stephen Jewett and his fiancé Deanna Dahlgren, of Essex Jct., and Jennifer Jewett of Champlain, NY; a sister, Barbara Poirier and her husband Robert, of Jericho; a grandson, Nicholas Jewett of Underhill; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by six of his siblings, Wayne Jewett, Margaret Lumbra, Agnes Compagna, Betty Fredrick, Donald Jewett and Richard Jewett.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, June 29,2024, at the Jedediah Hyde

Cemetery in Hyde Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Lamoille Home Health and Hospice, 54 Farr Avenue, Morrisville, Vermont 05661.
