Deborah L. Martin Walsh

MARSHFIELD: Deborah Lynn Martin Walsh, 63, of Marshfield, died unexpectedly at her residence in Marshfield on Friday February 9, 2024.

She was born June 12, 1960, in Hardwick; the daughter of the late Arnold Edward Martin, Sr and Bonnie-Lou Mae (Ross) Martin. She attended Walden and Cabot public schools. As a young girl, her family moved to Skagway, Alaska where she continued her education at Skagway High School. Her family later returned to Walden, Vermont where they lived until their home burned and all the neighbors came to help this displaced family.

On December 2,1990 she married Jeremy Walsh in Havre De Grace, Maryland. Following 28 years of marriage, they divorced.

Deborah worked for many businesses throughout Northern Vermont including Ella's Pizza in Walden, Shop-n-Save and McDonald's in St. Johnsbury and Barre. She was a meat cutter in Swanton, worked for Martin Dry Cleaners, Ames Department Store in St Albans and Berlin, Green Mountain Diner in Barre, Cabot Creamery in Cabot and in 2014 she worked for Woodridge Nursing Home as an LNA, and in their activities department.  She enjoyed flowers, music, concerts, dancing, snowmachining, traveling, playing cards, watching fireworks, and time with her family.

Survivors include: three siblings, Arnold Martin Jr, of Walden, Gregory Martin, and wife Leslie (Symonds) Martin of Irasburg, and Lisa Martin and her companion Amos Brown, of Winchester, VA; one Uncle, Harold Martin and wife, Aunt Florence Martin of Hardwick; also, many cousins and second cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6-8-PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Northern Vermont Funeral Home, 60 Elm Street, Hardwick.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the funeral home, with a committal, service to follow at 2PM., in the Wilson Cemetery, on Websterville Road, in Barre Town.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her memory to the Woodridge Nursing Home, 142 Woodridge Drive, Berlin, VT. 05602, or to an animal shelter/sanctuary or the humane society. Debbie had several dogs during her life and loved them all dearly.
