Dale J. Allen

MORRISVILLE: Dale James Allen, 78, of Morrisville died Wednesday, March 27,2024, at Copley Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer and COPD.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  He was born October 20,1945, in Wolcott, one of 10 children born to the late Paul and Hazel (Hurst) Allen. He attended Wolcott public schools and graduated from Peoples Academy in the class of 1963.

Dale entered the U S Army on March 31,1964.  He proudly served his country in Germany as a mechanic. He worked on tankers. He was honorably discharged on March 13,1967, at Fort Hamilton, New York.

On August 26,1967, he married Pamela Ann Kellogg in Morrisville. Together they raised three children.

In his earlier years, Dale was employed at the Foundry, in Morrisville, Vermont Weatherboard in Wolcott, and Bornemann & Greene in Morrisville.  He worked for Leo's Welding, where he was employed until he retired.

Dale attended the Lamoille Valley Church of the Nazarene in Johnson. He was a life member of the American Legion Post # 33 and the VFW Post # 9653, both in Morrisville.  He was also a member of the Governors Snowmobile Council, Lamoille County Sno-Packers, Lamoille County Trail coordinator, Hardwick Sno-Flake Ridge Runners Club and VAST.

He was a very active member of the Morrisville area. He enjoyed snowmobiling, gardening, decorating for the Holidays, LACN and traveling the snowmobile trails.  He was very social and was often seen as a spectator at sports events. He will be remembered for his love of family, country, friends, and his willingness to help others.

Survivors include: his loving wife Pamela, of 56 years; three children, Thomas Allen of Morrisville, Daniel Allen of Johnson and Debra and Francois Marcoux of Hyde Park; five siblings, Eleanor  Randall and Nancy Reed, both of Morrisville, Howard and Florence Allen of Wolcott, Arnold and Carol Allen of Blaine, Washington, Ruth and Sam McCuin of Georgia; four grandchildren, Lucas and Emily Marcoux, and Colton and Jessica Allen; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Dale was predeceased by four siblings, Kenneth and Keith Allen, Lois Trombley and Edith Smith.

A Memorial Service will be held at Peoples Academy gymnasium at 11 am, on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
