Clayton I. Reed

NORTH WOLCOTT: It is with deep sadness that our family announces the unexpected passing of Clayton Ivon Reed on Tuesday November 21, 2023, in the arms of his beloved wife of 40 years, Kathleen.

Clayton was born in Hardwick, VT on September 10th, 1950, to parents Stanley and Stella (Clark) Reed.

On July 30th,1983, Clayton married the love of his life, Kathleen (Lazarski) Reed. They made a life together in North Wolcott, Vt. On December 6th,1996, Clayton and Kathleen's world was forever changed when they welcomed the most wonderful son they could have ever wished for, Christopher.

Clayton was a very compassionate and loving husband and father. He graduated from Craftsbury Academy (High School) in 1969. Clayton also graduated from Vermont Technical College with an associate degree in business economics. Clayton worked as a contractor specializing in painting and drywalling. At one time, he had his own business, Reed's Painting. Clayton enjoyed many activities such as yard sales and repairing clocks and watches.  What Clayton cherished the most, though, was spending quality time with his family. Clayton took many weekend days in the summer with Kathleen, Christopher, and occasionally, his mother-in-law, Alice to have "family days" enjoying yard sales and each other's company all over Vermont.

Clayton is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Lazarski) Reed, his son Christopher Clayton Reed, daughter-in-law, Lillian Reed, his brother, Clifton and wife, Rhoda, his sisters, Donna and husband Clyde Gardner, Deanna and husband, Andy Staples, brothers-in-law Alfred Lazarski, Jr and wife Dianne, Brian Lazarski and wife Linda, and Jerry Fiske, sisters-in-law Cindy Berry and husband, Herbert (JB), and Tammy Booker.

Clayton was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Stella Reed, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Alfred Sr and Alice Lazarski, his sister Debra Fisk, his nephew Eric Reed, and his niece Mandy Lazarski.

Clayton will be greatly missed by all his family and friends who crossed his path in life.

Services are to be determined by Clayton's wife and son and will be announced later.
