Charles W. Brown Jr.

HARDWICK: Charles W. Brown Jr., born on January 2, 1955 (71) born in Hartford, Connecticut, passed peacefully at his home in Hardwick, Vermont, on March 16, 2026.

Charlie was known for his easy humor, generous spirit, and ability to make friends wherever he went and couldn't pass up a tag sale. A natural jokester, he enjoyed sharing laughter with family and friends and  was an avid collector with ability to rebuild, regenerate, and fix anything with an engine, a spring, or a capacitor.

Charlie had a deep passion for aviation and rocketry, and he was an avid firearms collector with a strong appreciation for the history of the revolver. As an expert marksman that continued to enjoy until the day he passed.

He is survived by his wife, Kimena Brown, and son Jeff Gile; his sister, Jeanette Brown from CT; and his children: Brian Alexandria of Fl and family, Cassidy Renfrew, Will Brown, Micah and his wife Meghan, Brown. He was a proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Vivian Thomas, Baelfire Brown, Alex and Forrest Gile.

Charlie will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, husband, and friend. His humor, stories, and presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

A private military gathering for family and close friends will be held at a later date, followed by  a day to remember  Charlie's life in an autumn celebration.
