BONNIE J. SICELY

BURLINGTON: Bonnie Jean Sicely, 81, died peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the Burlington Health & Rehab Center in Burlington

She was born on May 29, 1944, in Hardwick, one of nine children born to late Bernard M. and Mary A. (Carpenter) Gomez.  She attended Hardwick Academy.

As a young mother, she stayed at home to care for her family. Later, she worked in House Keeping for local businesses and institutions including, Swiss Chalet in Williston and UVM Medical Center in Burlington.

She enjoyed playing mahjong, spending time with her dog "puppy" and enjoying her family. Bonnie was a very devoted, caring and loving mother and grandmother.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include: two sons: Shawn Sicely and his wife, Danielle of Milton, and Roy Sicely of South Burlington; a grand-daughter Eliza Sicely of St. George, Vt; one sibling David Gomez; multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bonnie was predeceased by her daughter, Chrystal Hayford Simpson in 2018, and siblings: Leslie, Richard, Virginia, Elizabeth, Jeanette, Joann and Robert

A Graveside Service will be held at 10 AM, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the Elmore Mountain Cemetery in Elmore, Vt.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Lamoille Area Cancer Network, P.O. Box 837, Morrisville, Vt. 05661.
