Barbara Russ

Glover - Barbara Russ, 77 of Glover died on Thursday March 13, 2025, at the Union House in Glover where she was well cared for and happy her final year.

She was born to Fred and Nettie Russ at Greensboro Hospital, now the Greensboro Library, in the fall of 1947.  She grew up on the Russ family dairy farm in North Wolcott, working alongside her mother and father.  It was hard work, but she enjoyed all aspects of farm life.  She had no siblings.

She attended the North Wolcott Elementary School and graduated from the Hardwick Academy. She then attended Fanny Allen school and became an LPN.

Barb worked at Copley Hospital for twelve years, moving to Dumont Convalescent Center in Morrisville for seven years.  She then worked in Stowe at the Golden Eagle and Snowdrift motels for several years.  These were followed by twelve years with Lamoille Home Health Care until her retirement.

Her hobbies included reading, puzzles, and growing plants.  She loved her feline companion Mittens who was with her for many years.

She was predeceased by her Uncle George Russ, and her parents Fred and Nettie Russ.

Barb was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and valued what she learned from God's word and the hope of a restored earth that she would enjoy in the future.  The Hardwick Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses was close to her heart and its members those she considered to be her family.

A private service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hardwick as per Barb's wishes.
