Arlene J. Shedd

WOLCOTT: Arlene Jane Shedd, 81, of Wolcott died Thursday March 13, 2025, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin with her family at her side.

She was born on October 12,1943, in Morrisville; the daughter of the late Frank and Evangeline (Hood) Davis.

She attended Peoples Academy in Morrisville graduating in the class of 1961.

On June 17, 1968, she married Henry Charles Shedd in Morrisville.

Arlene was first employed by her parents on their family dairy farm.  She worked in the local potato fields and at the ski areas in Stowe. When her children were young, she worked at Concord Manufacturing in Morrisville, At the same time, morning and night she milked the cows at the dairy farm that Henry and she had purchased.  Recently she was employed at Vermont Flannel in Hyde Park. She loved working and was just not ready to retire.

She loved family time and farm animals. She was always delighted to watch her grandson race at Thunder Road.

Survivors include a son James Davis of Wolcott; a sister, Karlene Davis of Morrisville; two grandchildren James Scott Davis and his wife Elizabeth, of Johnson, Richard Clark and his wife Savanna Clark, of East Hardwick; six great grandchildren Brianna, Garrett, and Kelsey Davis, Bailey and Brandy Clark and Alana Nash; as well as multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arlene was predeceased by her husband Henry Shedd in 2006, a grandson John Michael Davis in 1995 and two sisters Pauline Churchill and Shelby J. Nunn.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Northern Vermont Funeral Home, 60 Elm Street, Hardwick, with Rev. Ernest Machia officiating.
